Thrush: This is a yeast infection on the mucous membranes inside your mouth. It is not uncommon in infants, perhaps more-so in premies. The organisms lives in all of our intestinal tracts and produces infection when the conditions are right for it. Antibiotic use, diabetes, steroids, immune deficits, etc. all may tend to promote it, but rather than thrush you're more likely to get vaginitis.

Nothing special: This is a condition resulting from the overgrowth of a common yeast that is everywhere in our environment. The mouth of a baby who feeds often provides lots of access to the sugar it loves to eat. It is more a nuisance than a problem. It is treated often but could be ignored unless the kid had bleeding of their gums.It likely represents at least 5% of the dry weight of your poop.Relax!!!!
