Valve regurgitation: Valve regurgitation is usually diagnosed by with an echo Doppler study. Trace to mild regurgitation is usually not a serious finding. More severe regurgitation or leakage through one of the heart valves may need to be followed more closely by a cardiologist. Good blood pressure control with medications known as ACE inhibitors may help to stabilize the amount of regurgitation.
