Yes: The aortic valve(the valve that leads from the left ventricle to the rest of the body), if that valve leaks then the blood that was to go out to the body is coming back into the heart. A new batch of blood is entering in to the lv from the left atrium across the mitral valve , and this needs to go through the aortic valve to the rest of body. The lv has to work twice as hard and fails over time.
