Great question: We're still dealing with the impact of the many new forms or communication--written, spoken, and visual. There's nothing wrong with social isolation, per se: some are more comfortable alone than with others, esp. Large crowds. So, from one perspective, if it works for you and you're an adult, great. Unanswered is whether it deprives kids of needed skills. If they sit next to each other texting.
