Best to wean: Sudden withdrawal of pain medications which you refer could result in withdrawal side effects which include nausea, vomiting, and more pain discomfort than you would experience by coming down more slowly. If you wish to come off faster- speak with the doctor but I would recommend a weaning process in your case.
