Yes: Hi Hisoka, Yes, you can likely take Buspar (buspirone) and melatonin safely. In fact, this combination has been studied as a treatment for depression.

Anxiety & sleep : Apparently your doctor feels that your sleep difficulty may be anxiety based. Hence buspar (buspirone). Melatonin is more a sleep cycle regulator. Zyprexa however is a stronger medication & will suppress nightmares and frightful dreams. All three types of medication are good for the composite symptoms of PTSD.

MEDICATION: Best to discuss medication with your Psychiatrist. If uncomfortable with your Dr. consult another for a second opinion. Have a physical exam by a Dr. to determine if you have a physical illness. Consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy with ZOOM sessions. Fears and anxiety could be heightened due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Stay safe & hopeful to elevate your immune system.
