Hi docs, do you think i can get shingles from chicken pox?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Shingles caused by: Chickenpox. It's just that the chickenpox we had in our younger years 'stays with us' - hiding in the nerve roots of the body. Then, usually years later, it can come out again at times of stress or illness -creating the shingles. One third of the U.S. population is at risk for shingles -so good to do something now about preventing it, since it can be nasty. Zostavax has an age indication of 50+.
