A member asked:

My nurse called today and said i have high thyroid, i'm not sure what that means. 23 weeks pregnant. and i have never been told this before. normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thyroid: Make sure they have done the proper tests. Thyroid hormone (T4) can be elevated (but entirely normal) when you are pregnant. TSH is the test that you need to know. High or low thyroid problems can be treated during pregnancy and if treated correctly, should not cause any trouble with either your baby or the pregnancy itself.
