A member asked:

What is macrocephaly, can baby die from it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Descriptive term: Macrocephaly is simply a descriptive term that means big head. By definition about 3% of the population will be at the large end of the head size scale ( as well as 3% on the small end). Some syndromes or conditions like hydrocephalus have big heads, but most macrocephaly is a benign autosomal dominant trait. It hasn't bothered me a bit, except for being hard to find a football helmet to fit.
