Marketing: Nexium (esomeprazole) and Prilosec are equivalent and have the same effect. The Nexium (esomeprazole) is a molecular modification which allows the pharm company to sell the drug as a new and more effective anti-acid. In fact the effect is the same and Prilosec (generic omeprazole) is far cheaper. Save your hard earned money.
