Used for spasm: Levsin, (hyoscyamine) a form of hyoscamine, is used to treat bowel spasm and also diarrhea related to excessive bowel peristalsis. Caution is advised in the use of the medication for crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Can cause constipation; other side effects include dry mouth, dry eyes; rare serious side effects can occur, as with any drugs.
