Increased Risk: No good data on whether hair dye increases cancer risk; best answer: almost certainly not. CT scans are another story. There is increased risk of radiation-caused cancer from CT scans. The risk is very low but not zero. A CT is a highly sophisticated Xray which uses the same type of radiation. Doctors have begun to move away from CT where possible, but sometimes CT is the only imaging study
