Could somebody please explain histrionic personality disorder?

Over-dramatic: Center of attention & is theatrical or exaggerated. Emotions shift quickly, but not intense. Speech imprecise & flighty. Dress & behavior designed to draw notice. Flirtatious but not usually sexually intense. Frequent troubles designed to elicit help or attention. Not as self-sabotaging / angry / fearful as a 'borderline' personality, more outgoing & competent than 'dependent' personality.

Histrionic: The hallmark of a histrionic is that the person has to be at the center of attention at all times. It's like watching an actor who is always playing a role "on stage" and very uncomfortable with NOT being the center of attention.
