My mother has a large nasty open wound from surgery, it is turning yellow, black & skin is bright reddish purple in area, what could this be?

Think Infection: The wound may be infected and tissue possibly becoming dead. It needs to be seen by the surgeon. May need cleaning and/or antibiotics.

Have it evaluated: Discoloration can be a result of an infection. Have it evaluated to avoid preventable complications.
