Tinea versicolor?: Tinea versicolor is a harmless superficial fungal infection of the skin. It can diminish tanning (in light-skinned people). It is flat, non-itchy. Over the counter medicine used for athlete's foot can cure tinea versicolor, but relapses months or years later are common.
