how much does tooth extraction hurt?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Raymond Lavigne
43 years experience Dentistry
Depends on infection: extraction usually does not hurt during since you are anesthetized. after you should take Ibuprofen and Aspirin for 1 - 2 days. Pain during or after extraction is not normal and is usually due to infection which requires antibiotics. If this is anticipated it is best to start antibiotics and anti-inflammatory 1 - 48 hours before
