What amount of are antibiotics for a strep throat?

Abx: Usually it is only treated if you have Group A Strep confirmed by a throat culture. If so Penicillin VK 500mg 2-3 times per day for ten days is the treatment. If Pen allergic you can use Azithromycin 500mg once on day one then 250mg once daily on days 2-5.

Varies: This varies with the med used and the method it is given. The injected penicillin's differ with dose and type by weight or age. The oral preparations differ by type of antibiotic. This is decided by the doc who confirms the diagnosis.
