Be sure it's really: Growing pains has been used (and abused) as a "garbage can" diagnosis when kids get musculoskeletal pains. Unfortunately this delays diagnosis of more serious conditions like juvenile arthritis. "growing pains" is not caused by growing--it is a benign non-inflammatory, non-injury-related musculoskeletal pain that affects children. If concerned, ask for referral to pediatric rheumatologist.
