A member asked:

What do you do for a child who is having growing pains in the legs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Growing pains: Growing pains occur primarily at night, involve the legs in various locations and are without visible redness , swelling and do not have local warmth to touch. They respond to gentle massage \, warm baths and occasionally, acetaminophen. Recurrence in same area consistently, visible inflammation, unexplained fevers/rashes or morning limp are all features that would require further evaluation.
