Affects blood sugar.: Beta-2 agonists for asthma such as albuterol can increase blood sugar by releasing stored glycogen from the liver and stimulating the adrenergic system (adrenaline). They should be used with caution when diabetes mellitus is present and discussed with your endocrinologist.
