Albuterol: Albuterol will give you the same or perhaps a slightly better result. Many physicians prefer Levalbuterol (xopenex), a purified version of albuterol. While there is no body of clinical data prefering Levalbuterol over albuterol the similar cost & effect make both drugs attractive as rescue but not as controller drugs for asthma. Use the one your insurance plan covers.
