A member asked:

Does aldactone (spironolactone) help with female acne ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sometimes.: Aldactone (spironolactone) is a diuretic, but it also has the ability to block the effects of testosterone to some extent, and is sometimes used to treat some forms of androgenetic (adult) acne in women only. This is an "off-label" use, however, and should only be taken under the supervision of a dermatologist who is very familiar with its use for this problem.
