How to cure an elevated alt(high liver enzymes)?

Find the cause: Probably one of the following -- alcohol, some medication you're allergic to, hepatitis B or C, hemochromatosis, Wilson's, autoimmune hepatitis, antitrypsin deficiency, being overweight / not exercising. All are manageable, and all are danger to your life. Don't 'treat a lab value'. Get to the cause. This would be a great time to get trim & fit regardless.

Don't Rx a lab: Instead of 'curing' a lab value, find the cause. This may be your warning that you're drinking too much, taking a medicine that's wrong for you, have hepatitis B / C / hemochromatosis / Wilson's / autoimmune hepatitis (all of which are treatable, life-or-death illnesses) or just need to get back into physical fitness.
