A member asked:

What number of days since exposure does it take to show antibodies to toxoplasmosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complex issue: Toxoplasmosis is especially a concern in pregnancy. The earlier the infection occurs, the more severe the potential effects on the baby. Symptoms of infectiion are not very specific. Tests can turn positive as early as 7 days after exposure, but early treatment does not seem to help transmission from mother to baby. If there is a suspicion, a doctor for infectious diseases should be seen.
