How can I relieve pressure in ear canal due to a cold?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Brian Affleck
29 years experience in ENT and Head and Neck Surgery
Ear pressure: This is a problem where your Eustachian tube isn't working well and you develop negative pressure or a small vacuum in your ears. This is common. First try to counteract the pressure by pinching your nose and blowing...this should "Pop" the ears. If not, use some nasal decongestant sprays to open this up and then try popping the ears. Next try nasal steroids, like Flonase OTC...keep popping
