How much time will my parethesia last after wisdom teeth extractions?

Varies: The paresthesia of the lip can last from days to months. If the complete sensation of the lip has not returned after 6 months, usually a consultation with a nerve specialist is needed. Some doctors may prescribe steroids to alleviate the paresthesia. Good luck.

Hours: The paresthesia due to local anesthesia will dissipate after a few hours. If you have paresthesia the next day, it means the nerve has been injured. Recovery can occur in weeks, or never. Make sure you are followed up carefully by the oral surgeon. The extractions not by an oral surgeon? Have an oral surgeon manage your case from this point forward.

Paresthesia: or numbness following the removal of wisdom tooth. This condition may correct itself within a matter of days, or may last for weeks, months and even years. When paresthesia is temporary, the area of numbness will become smaller and change from a numb feeling to a tingling feeling. Ask your oral surgeon for more information.
