Unsure: If it were viral i would expect both hands. Probable contact reaction but no way to tell without seeing it. Look for straight lines in the rash that would suggest your child contacted something.

Varied causes: It could be an allergic reaction to something you came in contact with or other form of eczema but best to get checked as you may need medication to resolve issue.
