Blood count: Anemia is a reflection of the level of Hgb in the blood which can easily be measured. Clinically one feels weak, and the skin is pale, cornea of eyes look very white, and nail beds are very white. If the Hgb levels drop below 10 one should find cause and possibly get drug Procrit (epoetin alfa). If Hgb below 8 gms. then transfusion indicated or organ failure and cardiac symptoms can develop.
