HR of 56 is fine: Many athletic adults have a heart rate that is a bit less than 60. Medications for HTN sometimes slow the HR (so called Beta Blockers in particular). If your heart rate gets lower than 30 that's an issues ( you'll likely get a pacemaker if there is no reason for this that can be corrected (like hypothyroidism) People with slow heart rates above 30 who become symptomatic may also qualify
