Dr J's correct: You're probably right handed. It is common, try and keep your hand elevated, Tylenol (acetaminophen) is ok to take (doesn't help much...), splints work best if you can keep from laying on your hand or leaving it in a dependent position (don't let your arm hang). It's a form of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in pregnancy, worsened by routine swelling in pregnancy. Avoid salt, keep hydrated, elevate the arm, & splint. GL.

Hands asleep: There is likely some very mild to moderate swelling going on form your pregnancy. This puts pressure on the nerves in your wrist area and causes the numbness. I had this the last few months of my last pregnancy. The night splints really do help as does anything to reduce swelling in the wrists - elevate, decrease your salt intake, wear the wrist splints every night. Will clear up after delivery.
