It depends: Reimplantation of a digit is a complex topic. Depending on the location, amount of amputation, how long it has been amputated and the viability of the tissue, will all determine whether not he can be re-implanted. If this recently happened, you should proceed to an emergency department for further evaluation.

Amputated finger: Management will depend on the site of amputation , size of amputation, how long ago did the amputation happen , what is the vascularity of the amputated finger and loss of sensation. In many cases, reattachment of the amputated finger is not possible or advisable because the patient will be more comfortable and have better function if the part is not reattached. Please go to Emergency .

Possibly: It depends on several factors such as hand dominance, which finger and where on the finger it is actually amputated. Other factors include the time since amputation and the actual cause, and vascular supply. Not all hospitals have the ability to preform this procedure.
