A member asked:

Could someone still get type 2 diabetes if they exercise regularly - almost to the stage of obsessive exercising?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The data don't lie: Hi. If this exercise fiend you describe has diagnostic glucose testing, then they have diabetes. Don't forget, healthy lifestyle reduces risk of type 2 diabetes, but has no bearing on developing type 1 diabetes. So yeah, this exercise fanatic could have diabetes (and there's a peak of type 1 in the 30-40 age range).
