You may get help: If you go to the ER, they will likely refer you to a psychiatrist or psychologist for evaluation. People frequently have suicidal ideas, but don't intend to carry it out without a plan. If you seek help, your primary physician can refer you to competent people who can help you get over the depression and get on with your life. Good luck!
