Unclear, Depends: GMO known to have begun in the 18th century with the monk Gregor Mendel who kept records of the genetically modified foods achieved via cross breading. So GMO is not new. In the last ~30 years, humans have developed additional methods for GMO which ↑ the speed & flexibility of GMO characteristics. Without clinical trials to compare what difference GMO makes, now one knows for certain any downsides

Probably very unsafe: Here's the problem: there are absolutely NO studies on the safety & hazards of humans eating GMO foods. However, many well-conducted animal studies have demonstrated a wide variety of serious health problems in animals fed GMO foods. Thus, given the evidence it harms animals & lack of evidence of safety in humans, I do everything I can to avoid GMO's.
