A member asked:

Had a white spot on the edge of my iris with red on the white of my eye. felt like something was in my eye and hurt. now the spot is red? what is it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Exam: You may have a corneal infiltrate due to something that irritated the cornea. The white color is due to white blood cells, but as this inflammatory process continues, the corneal tissues break down & pain & inflammation increases. The white spot may ulcerated and the adjacent tissues become red, inflamed & hurt. You need to have your eyes examined to institute proper and urgent treatment.
