Gastroc strain?: If u have strained ( partially torn) the medial( inside) head of your gastrocnemius muscle( most common injury that your symptoms suggest)rest for 4-6 wks(or u risk re-injury),heel lift can help. Exam and MRI will confirm diagnosis.Unfortunately there is no substitute for rest in this case and other muscle strain injuries( i.e.hamstring). Best of Luck!
