A member asked:

What kind of diagnostic tests are used to investigate post-colonoscopy complaints, in patients with only mild abdominal pain, no fever, bleeding, etc?

Abdominal pain: Usually no tests are necessary. If there is fever of severe pain, abdominal x-rays are ordered to rule out a perforation

First do a Physical: A careful examination by your doctor is required before any tests should be ordered. Tests are selected based on clinical judgment and suspected cause for the pain. If it is mild pain, no tests are likely to be useful. Just getting the bowels functional may take care of the problem.
