Sometimes: Some people are lucky and arthritis can come and go, and or weather changes can affect it, etc. Other people get arthritis and it gets worse, requiring Rx medications to help combat the pain. See your Dr. for eval if it gets bad as described. Best wishes.

Yes & no : It sounds like you have Osteo Arthritis . ( commonest ) it will eventually burn out and the pain disappear . In the mean time you can use anti inflammatory Meds such as Aleve (naproxen) or Advil to control pain & inflammation . You can ask your doctor for Voltaren Gel that you can Rub on on your hand 4 times a day and it wi control the pain . About 7% is absorbed systemically . .
