Usually not: The doctor who orders the MRI scan (not the radiologist who reads the scan) would be the person discussing the results with the patient. One should keep his follow-up appointment with the ordering doctor, and can ask questions about the results at that time. If there is an urgent problem found on the MRI, the radiologist can call the ordering doctor, and the ordering doctor can call the patient.
