Cough: Actually the coughing will aid in clearing some of this material from your airways. You could get a variety of OTC products containing dextromethorphan (usually marked DM in the U.S.). If that does not work then you doctor can prescribe a Codeine containing cough syrup. Hope this clears up soon. If you are a smoker, please stop.
