Leg length unequal: Most likely your leg lengths are unequal. It is not uncommon to have some asymmetry and a centimeter or 1.5cm is not out of the ordinary. A heel lift or custom orthotic can be made to accommodate the difference. If you are having some hip or back pain then exploring the inserts would be a good idea. A scanogram X-ray can quantify exactly the difference, but a skilled orthotist can do it by hand.
