A member asked:

Is it normal to have pain in the liver area within the first few days after having your gallbladder removed laparoscopically?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sometimes: Usually after a lap chole, there is discomfort in the RUQ and mainly the Right shoulder. This is a result of the air in your abdomen. The pain should get better relatively quickly. If you have any nausea or vomiting, or yellow/orange color to your urine, you should see your surgeon. You may also want to try Ibuprofen which sometimes helps with the discomfort.
