Not likely: An infected wisdom tooth extraction is a serious procedure. Post-operative care is very important. The pain, complications of infection and swelling can be minimized if the instructions are followed precisely. Before prescribing the medication your surgeon will make sure that the benefits to you are greater than the risk of side effects. Take care.

Antibiotics: If the medications are antibiotics they can irritate your stomach. Talk to the prescribing Dentist and express your concerns. Stopping antibiotics in the middle of treatment has been associated with antibiotic resistant bacteria. There are ways to manage your gastritis and still take your full course of antibiotics.
