Travel: There is a risk for anyone who takes a long distance car ride of developing clots in their lower extremities . I highly suggest using support / compression hose , keeping the legs elevated if possible and stopping every 2 hours to walk around . Try to massage the calf . If Sny pain a swelling is noted , stop snd head to the closest ER . Good luck & safe travel . Discuss this further with your OB

Frequent breaks.: Actually, you need to takes more frequent breaks. You need to out of the car every 1-2 hours. You need to be constantly sipping on fluids (water is best, avoid caffeine, about 12 ounces and hour. That's going to make you have to urinate. The increased fluid volume with decrease the chance of contractions. Also, in pregnancy, you have an increased risk for blood clots, so you need to be moving.
