See orthodontist: There are many various reasons which could cause "the gum that was between my 2 front teeth is squished & inflated". I can appreciate your concerned about your braces, but finding a proper and treatment may be the answer to your worries. Rec.: see your orthodontist for a evaluation and advise to your general dentist.

Periodontist: Gum tissue may need to be reshaped by a Periodontist, or teeth may pop apart when braces removed.

Frenectomy: A gap between the maxillary central incisors can quite commonly be due to an abnormal position of the labial frenum. If the gap (diastema) is due to the abnormal frenum attachment, a frenectomy (incising the frenum) is commonly performed to reduce the incidence of the gap recurring following your orthodontic treatment.

Usually the gum will: recontour as the teeth and the space closure stabilizes. Make sure you are brushing well and flossing everyday while in treatment. Also, warm salt water rinses may help reduce the swelling If the gums are still swollen in a few weeks, you may ask your orthodontist about having a laser procedure to reduce the puffiness in the area.

Squished gums: I wish I could intelligently answer your question, as the question is not printed. I would suggest, however, that your "squished gums" between your upper front may, in part, be a problem as a result of closing the gap between your front teeth. If that is the case, there are simple remedies that can fix the problem. Ask your orthodontist what he recommends to alleviate the problem.

What is your ?: What you have is a inflamed papilla. You could try flossing around it and rinsing with salt water. If the inflammation does not go down in 2 days check with your doctor.
