Many options: There are many options for facial fillers and enhancement. There are different applications for the different fillers that are fda approved. Some are better in certain places. You should consult with an experienced surgeon or provider.

Depends: There are other fillers that vary in cost and duration of correction. Fat transfer is another option as well.

NO: Restylane (dermal fillers) is an injectable filler and sculptra is a facial volumizer. Other methods of adding volume to the face include Radiesse or juvederm injections, fat injections/transfer and facial implants.

Volume restoration: The best means of rejuvenating your face depends on your appearance and what you would like to improve. There are 3 levels of intervention. Everyone benefits from good skin care: at a minimum, i recommend tns serum and sunblock. Next there are office injectable treatments like botox, restylane, (dermal fillers) sculptra w/ minimal downtime. Finally there are procedures w/ some downtime (lasers, surgery, etc).

Cosmetic options: Both Restylane (dermal fillers) and sculptra are great options to reverse the signs of aging. Both rejuvenate by adding volume. Results with Restylane (dermal fillers) are immediate and last several months. Results with sculptra take several weeks to develop, but last a year or longer. Other non-surgical options include juvederm and radiesse. Each of these fillers have advantages and disadvantages.

Cosmetic treatments: What treatment to use depends on what the problem areas are. Most skin changes we know as "aging" are due to volume loss in facial skin, soft tissues & bones. To make the face more youthful-looking, this loss is replaced with fillers. Lasers can be used for skin tightening, correcting redness and brown spots and generating new collagen. Botox relaxes facial muscles and smooths dynamic wrinkles.

Fillers: Restylane (dermal fillers) and sculptra are great products in experienced hands. Whether they are "the only way" depends on what you are treating. Be sure to have your face evaluated by a board certified facial plastic surgeon.
