Minimal: The risks of stent placement are very low with proper technique and post procedure care. The risk of NOT having a stent is much higher. All risks that can be modified or changed need to be addressed.

Wow: Loaded question.. A stent is placed to treat a significant or critical blockage that my be threatening or causing significant symptoms. Any procedure must be evaluate based on it's risk/benefit ration. In general, the risk of a stent is much lower than the risk that it is being placed for.
