A member asked:

How clogged does an artery have in order to get a stent ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: I really depends on the artery that is getting clogged. Carotid, coronary (heart), leg, kidneys all have different indications for treatment. As a general rule of thumb stents are not needed unless there are symptoms related to the narrow artery. This is an excellent question to pose to your physician treating the clogged artery.
