Not easy: It will all depend upon the type of surgery you need, but across the board, surgery for hemorrhoids that had failed medical therapy is not easy on patients. If you require a classic or traditional hemorrhoidectomy, expect to have a lot of pain for the next 2-3 days after surgery, a lot of discomfort for a couple of weeks, and expect a complete recovery time of 2-3 months to be completely happy.
