Not the worst one: Although, hemorrhoidectomy (hemorrhoid excision) is not the most difficult surgery, there may be discomfort associated with it in the postoperative period as you will have to sit on your buttocks that hold the anus. Your surgeon will provide you with instructions on how to minimize discomfort. The downtime may be a week or two depending on the severity and your ability to recover.

Hemorrhoid Surgery: How painful a surgery is depends on many factors. The first question is why are you having surgery? What symptoms do you have? What is the impact of these symptoms on quality of life? What inteventions have you tried? Which surgery are you considering?

Depends : There are different ways hemorrhoids are treated. Internal hemorrhoids are treated by banding them with a rubber band. Painless with some cramping. Large external hemorrhoids removal is painful. Large hemorrhoids that prolapse or protrude can be treated with a stapling technique. A very well tolerated procedure. Surgery for hemorrhoids should always be a last resort.
